UltraShape™

Unlike liposuction, UltraShape™ is non-surgical which means no incisions and anaesthetics are involved, resulting in little to no recovery time. It is a non-invasive and painless treatment. Patients are able to leave our aesthetic clinic with no unwanted signs of treatment and return to their normal daily activities immediately.

During the UltraShape™ treatment, the membranes of the fat cells are disrupted. The fat cell content, primarily composed of triglycerides, is dispersed into the fluid between the cells and then transported through the vascular and lymphatic systems to the liver. The liver makes no distinction between fat coming from the UltraShape™ treatment and fat originating from consumed food. Both are processed via the body’s natural mechanisms.

The UltraShape™ treatment focuses on the abdomen, thighs (“saddle bags”) and flanks (“love-handles”).

Certain restrictions for some people exist mainly due to an underlying condition they have that may interact with the way in which the system works. Amongst the restrictions to keep in mind are: those aged less than 18 years, pregnancy (or anticipated pregnancy), breastfeeding mothers, patients with an implanted cardiac defibrillator, pacemaker, or other electromagnetic implants, patients with severe hyperlipidemia or fatty liver, hepatitis, other liver diseases, connective tissue disease, and bleeding disorder.

The number of treatments needed varies according to the individual. Clinical results show an average reduction of four centimetres and as much as ten centimetres after 3 treatments. In independent studies and in commercial use, multiple treatments have shown accumulative circumference reduction and high patient satisfaction. The UltraShape™ treatment destroys fat cells permanently, resulting in a long-lasting effect. Obviously, the effects will last much longer if the patient maintains a healthy lifestyle. Due to the definite destruction of fat cells, no maintenance treatments are required.

It is recommended to do UltraShape™ with a two-week interval in-between, to allow the fat to be cleared via the body’s natural mechanism.

Most patients report a painless and comfortable experience, with side effects being extremely rare. After determining the exact treatment area, a specially designed belt will be placed around your abdomen. A soothing gel will then be applied to your skin. Following that, our aesthetic doctor will glide the UltraShape™ transducer over the treatment area to deliver gentle and virtually painless ultrasound pulses deep into the skin. Treatments usually last an hour or less. Patients are able to resume their daily routine immediately after leaving the clinic.
